Patricia’s career started with 22 years as a Canadian Forces Nursing Officer focusing on ICU, and later, cross cultural nursing in Haida Gwaii. Nursing education has consumed the later third of her career, first at Grande Prairie Regional College and then at Vancouver Island University. She left full-time teaching in 2011 and has taught as a sessional since 2012. Patricia got her MN at Athabasca University, focusing on experimental learning, and her BSN from University of Victoria in 1992. Patricia’s professional passion focuses on first and second year student success, fostering critical thinking and transferring theoretical knowledge into practice, and working relationally in practice.
