Program Pending! Institutional Approval Still Required

Post-Degree Diploma in Gerentology

Best practices in “Healthy Aging” requires an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the physical, social, cognitive, and spiritual needs of older adults. Gerontology is one of the growth areas of the 21st century due to population aging worldwide.

The number of individuals over the age of 65 will double in the next 25 years creating opportunities in a variety of sectors. Globally, as health systems change in response to population aging, job and leadership opportunities are created. The graduate diploma offers health professionals from a variety of fields and disciplines the perspectives, knowledge and capabilities that they require to understand the diverse and evolving needs of aging adults.

Theoretical approaches, current best practices across disciplines, use of evidence based research findings, and experiential learning are woven throughout the curriculum. Gaining an understanding of the lived experiences of older adults, their families, and the communities in which they live is foundational to the program.gerontology-seniors-learning-computer
