Tammy lives as a guest on the traditional land of the Snuneymuxw First Nation, with her husband and three teenage sons. Tammy is of British and Bajan decent and is a grateful and conscious member of the human collective. She enjoys movement, music and being connected to the land and earth.
She found her passion for early childhood education in 2003 and began her formal education in ECEC at Malaspina College. Her learning journey evolved into studies around children, youth, families and community and she graduated with an undergrad in Child and Youth Care from University of Victoria with specialization in Indigenous contexts in 2021. Tammy spent a decade working at the local friendship centre, weaving her way through various prenatal, early years, family and youth programs. Tammy's passion involves a deep interest in understanding trauma informed care in the early years and working with children with diverse needs and abilities.
Currently she works as the Director of Programming for Aboriginal Head Start Association of British Columbia. Continuing her learning journey, Tammy is currently participating in the Masters of Executive Leadership at Royal Roads University.
