For more than 30 years, Alison served in various not-for-profit agencies supporting members of the disability community of all ages and their families. After completing her Master of Arts in Leadership, she instructed at Vancouver Island University. Specifically, she taught and coordinated the Education Assistant and Community Support program. She and her colleagues sustained the program in the qathet community by developing a unique blended delivery. She then helped redevelop the Leadership and Disability Studies diploma program. Alison is committed to equity and inclusion for all citizens. She believes in a person centered, asset-based approach and is skilled with universal design principles that help ensure access for all citizens. She is recognized for her work with community located diversity projects like the Groundswell. (The DDCC Project | Defining Diversity: Creating Community). Alison is a proficient facilitator both in person and online. She is skilled at gathering and analyzing information in ways that emerge trends and reveal key opportunities for change.
